Weekend Recap: Smoke on the Water

Sometimes my friends tweak my last name to reflect a state of being or activity I'm participating in at the time. My last name is pronounced "two-check," but it is frequently edited to things like Lame-check.

This weekend I was Tube-check, fearlessly braving the waters of the Rifle River in an inflatable plastic donut.

If you've ever been on a canoe or tubing trip up there, you know there's a lot of...um, indulgence...that happens there. It was a great time with friends (established and new). Rest assured though, the only thing I indulged in was setting up a winning bet on Oct. 25.

Sunday started off with grand plans of ribeyes, potatoes and glory. In reality, the day was characterized by TV golf, lots of couch time and unrealized dreams (of steak).

There's always next weekend, I guess.

Favorite Musical Selection During the Tubing Road Travels: Patrick and Eugene. They're fun to listen to. They also curbed my raging road tendencies.
